| We
believe that computers are supposed to be programmed to salvage people
from repetitive routines. However, monster computer companies have
tried hard to convince us we are only smart enough to use computers as
appliances. We also believe that in this networked world, decentralization
is the way to go, but at the same time, we see resources being invested
in building "portal" sites that unify our view and access to information.
They take away our freedom to reconfigure the behavior of our computers,
our freedom to create our own connection with the Internet, and burden
us once again with repetitive routines and unified view of the world.
Our research is to liberate people by building theories and systems of
Adaptive
Internet Intelligent Agents. We
are small, we are not in Redmond or Silicon Valley, but we are not
intimidated.
